GTA 6 Editions & Pricing: Standard vs Ultimate Explained

GTA 6 comes in exactly two editions: the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Rockstar confirmed both when preorders opened on June 25, 2026. Here’s what’s actually inside each — and which one makes sense for you.

Standard Edition — $79.99

The Standard Edition is the base game, full stop. No extra vehicles, no bonus missions, no cosmetics. You get the complete story of Jason and Lucia across the state of Leonida — which, if Rockstar’s track record means anything, is already a massive amount of game.

Available digitally and as a physical boxed version — though note the box contains a download code, not a disc.

Ultimate Edition — $99.99

The $20 step up is more substantial than a typical “deluxe” tier. Rockstar describes it as premium content “threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.” Confirmed contents:

  • Five exclusive vehicles, including the Classic Car Collection — a questline where you track down abandoned project cars and restore them
  • Three exclusive weapons
  • Two full cosmetic packs for Jason and Lucia
  • Five exclusive businesses (yes, including the hair salon everyone’s talking about)
  • Two exclusive side missions

The Ultimate Edition is digital-only. If you buy the physical Standard Edition, you can purchase an Ultimate Edition Upgrade later through the PlayStation or Xbox store once your code is redeemed.

Preorder bonus: the Vintage Vice City Pack

Every preorder — Standard or Ultimate — placed before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, a set of throwback items Rockstar teases as a flashback “to when the neon burned brightest.” All preorders also include one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service.

Which edition should you buy?

Buy Standard if: you mainly want the story and world. Nothing in the Ultimate Edition is required to experience the full campaign — it’s bonus content, not extra chapters.

Buy Ultimate if: you know you’ll live in this game for months and $20 for five businesses, restorable classic cars and extra side content sounds like obvious value. Compared to typical $10 deluxe editions that add a gun skin, this one is unusually meaty.

Skip the FOMO: the only truly time-limited item is the Vintage Vice City Pack preorder bonus. Everything else will still be purchasable after launch.

Regional pricing note
